CENTERVILLE -- Residents across the Miami Valley are excited about the grand opening of Costco. Costco opened its doors at 8 a.m. Thursday (November 13, 2014). But with the excitement customers are mixed with some concerns. People who live near Wilmington Pike say the traffic is already causing problems. Right now, the northbound lane of Wilmington Pike is under construction to widen the lanes, which is expected to continue through next summer. In fact, a big crowd rushed through the doors Wednesday night for the sneak peak. The soft opening was held from 6 until 8 p.m. Customers were not allowed to buy anything, but they were allowed to sign up for an annual membership, which starts at $55. The new Costco will have a deli and food court, pharmacy, photo and optical centers and gas station. The work on Feedwire Road is expected to wrap up soon. Even though membership are required to shop at Costco, the Chamber of Commerce president says the store will help families save money because they are buying bulk items.
