The camera was a GoPro Hero3 Black that had been custom modified to be controlled remotely from a control box & monitor inside the vehicle. The acrylic dome was no match for the large hail, and it shattered after being exposed for about 7 minutes. This left the GoPro inside exposed to the hail and heavy rain...which it took for about another minute before finally failing. However, even though it got soaked, once it dried out again, it worked perfectly! Just need a new dome!
