(6 Oct 2018) At least two security forces have been killed in bomb blasts in Kabul, a spokesman for the Kabul police chief said on Saturday. Basir Mujahid said nine people were injured in Saturday's attack, including six police officers and three civilians. Captain Aimal Sakhi, an Afghan army commander, said ten people were wounded in the blasts. The discrepancy in the figures could not be immediately explained. The police chief was among the wounded, Mujahid said. Mujahid said a roadside bomb hit a military vehicle when police arrived to respond to an insurgent attack, then a second blast took place in the same area causing casualties. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Both the Taliban and Islamic State group are active in Kabul and have claimed responsibility for previous attacks against Afghan security forces.
