Greenhouse Fell Apart Hauling Wood & Chainsaw Mill

The windows fell off the greenhouse roof, I am hauling more wood and logs and working on the chainsaw lumber mill.

The windows I was putting on the greenhouse roof fell off. The DAP brand caulk I used to seal the windows at first held them tight and would not let go. That was a week ago last Thursday.

This is exterior grade caulk meant for doors, windows and more. It is unfortunately made to be water washable, which I think is its downfall. This stuff has to be used when it is going to be over 40 degrees F and not freezing for a few days. It also has to be applied during a dry period.

So I had waited for a warm spell and applied this during a 50+ degree day. It was not freezing for the next few nights and no rain in sight.

All was well until a week later when we got a heavy rain and it washed the caulk away. This was cured and supposed to be for outdoor use. It washed away and the windows fell out.

The good news is that the windows are tougher than people thought. There was a lot of worry of these breaking.

I am hauling home a lot more fire wood and also logs for the lumber mill. I now have three stacks of logs to be split on the log splitter for fire wood. And I have some very large logs that I may cut open on the mill.

I also brought home even larger sections to cut on the lumber mill to make dimensional lumber.

I ran the lumber mill a bit to get the last cuts off the log that was on it. This log was cut into siding for the chicken coop. Then I hauled over a chunk of an oak tree and got it settled and clamped down on the mill.

But just as I was going to cut it, thunder and lightning started to come on fast. I had to put things away and cover the mill for the night.
