As a lobbyist, Erik Kancler has a window into politics that most people don’t. With a focus on public interest clients, he’s learned that success often hinges on effective public engagement. And that each of us has more power than we think. Erik Kancler, owner of Kancler Consulting LLC, is a public interest lobbyist. Kancler Consulting’s premise is not to play politics but to know politics and to use that knowledge to promote policies that benefit public rather than special interests. He began his professional life as an atmospheric scientist, but left a PhD offer and the realm of scientific research, to pursue greater engagement in public policy by working as a policy consultant, investigative journalist, nonprofit director, and as leadership staff in the Oregon Senate.
