My baby's had a cough for months. The doctor said to call if it persists. Should I do anything else?

You mentioned that you have a seven month old little boy who has this terribly chronic cough and when you brought it up with the doctor at both four months and six months it sounds like they said just call us back if it never stops. Because it hasn't stopped it would be best for you to call the doctor back and they can decide if further investigation or treatments are warranted. There are a few different things that can cause a chronic cough, allergies like you mentioned although allergies aren't that common with babies under the age of one. Also reflux, and asthma, and illness can all cause it as well. They'll be your best resource.
