My noisy iMac

I have an early 2009, 20 inch iMac which for the past 2 years has rattled away all day - I tried resetting the NVPRAM last year but this made it worse. Any advice? This was done with an iPod camera so your computer volume needs to turned up. The mac has since been repaired ( apparently two of its fans -the optical drive and hard disk drive fan were broken-the HDD fan was the one rattling) and now makes a normal hum sound that it should make.
