Choir Heads To China For Olympic Festival

China is the next stop for a group of Kansas City high school students on a mission of music. The choir at the Kansas City Christian School left Monday for 12 days in China. The group will take part in a pre-Olympic festival, singing with other choirs from across the world. "I've always wanted to go to China. It's just one of those countries that I've always had an interest in," one student said. State lawmakers certified the students as official ambassadors of Kansas for the journey. "I'm hoping that makes it more real to me and my classmates and friends that we're not the only people here. There's other people in this world that have lives and have families and have feelings," student David Lague told KMBC's Martin Augustine. "Our job as Christians is to serve." Among their stops, the choir will also perform at the Great Wall of China.
