Terry Talley, chief technology officer at Acxiom Corporation, talks about how Red Hat helps Acxiom standardizes its grid computing environment.  

Acxiom provides interactive marketing services for customers, and required better scalability, throughput, and improved cost.  The stability and reliability of Linux led the company to Red Hat.

Matt Hoggatt, technical unit leader of the service delivery infrastructure unit, and Chuck Howland, technical group leader of CDI and marketing database services, give further detail about the service-oriented architecture that Acxiom employs, based on a JBoss Enterprise Middleware foundation on commodity hardware.

"Red Hat Linux is the standard operating system for our computing environment. Due to the scalability of some of our applications, we were able to book revenue earlier in a quarter, and we were able to do that also with other customer implementations as well."
