If you're making hooks (especially horseshoe nail hooks), I've got a tooling suggestion for you! This is a quick solution for punching holes, instead of the slow way of drilling them.

Using a sheet metal punch, you can punch holes in the head of the nail hooks. A simple sheet metal punching machine can save you a lot of time in drilling. Sheet metal punch and die make it simple, and they don't wear out! Sheet metal punching tools come in handy for use on thin material in the blacksmith shop.
