U.S. Senator John McCain, accepting his party's presidential nomination on Thursday, vowed to fight corruption and Washington cronyism. At the Republican party's nominating convention, speakers sought to portray McCain and vice presidential running mate Governor Sarah Palin as political mavericks untarnished by corruption and as agents of change.
