1911 Curtis Pusher

2011 World War II Weekend
Reading Regional Airport/Carl A. Spaatz Field
Reading, Pennsylvania
Saturday June 4, 2011

This is a replica of the Curtis Pusher that was flown by Eugene Ely that made the first landing on a Naval warship back in 1911. While it is not World War II-era, it was a great sight to see over Reading, and helped celebrate 100 years of Naval Aviation. As you can tell, it is not the easiest aircraft in the world to fly, and the pilot has to really work to keep the aircraft flying.

I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I have yet to figure out what causes it.

If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
