All of the beautiful birds in the new McNeil Avian Center seem calm, relaxed, and content, even when the building is crowded with visitors.

Some, like this toucanet, even try to land on visitors' arms (or cameras!)

I didn't mind when this cute little bird decided my arm would make a good perch, but the keepers are training the birds to not be so friendly because some visitors might not be so happy to have a bird land on them.
