Taxiwaala is a 2018 science-fiction and horror comedy thriller film written and directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda, Priyanka Jawalkar and Malavika Nair in the lead roles. Ravi Prakash, Ravi Varma, and Uttej appear in supporting roles. Music is composed by Jakes Bejoy. The film is jointly bankrolled by UV Creations and Geetha Arts. The movie's teaser was released on April 18, 2018 and the movie was released on November 17, 2018 to Positive Reception and achieved breakeven on day1. Overseas release by Freeze Frame Films.This film has taken scenes and basic plot from 1983 Hollywood thriller flick 'Christine'. The supernatural element of astral body is spiritual but not new and it is not science but more of a fiction in how the film shows it.

Plot
Shiva Vijay Devarakonda goes to his friend's place in Hyderabad Madhu Nandan for a job after his degree but settles as a cab driver after quitting the odd jobs he attempts.

Shiva starts experiencing spooky things inside the vintage car he bought, most of them are not harmful to him but scares others. Shiva falls in love with Anu Priyanka jawalkar on the first ride. Suspecting a ghost, Shiva and friends try to find the mystery through the ex-owner. As the team enters the ex-owner’s home, they come across a professor who knows about a pseudo-scientific process called Astral Projection. Rest of the story reveals how the Astral Projection is related to the Ghost acts in the Car, who is the person  undergo the said process etc. There is also a parallel inter-related plot with Shiva’s brother and sister-in-law.
