Once built, the Locationiser will be a multi-purpose device, capable of both mapping out a location, and recording/measuring distances & locations within. It can be used for planning the design of internal structures, the re-organisation of workspaces, but also for more technical things; if you're an engineer, you will probably have a use for it. The physical device will simply require being placed anywhere in a room, before taking a reading. Advanced logical algorithms will deal with variations in data, and potentially with obstructions, to calculate the blueprints of the location you are in, and to record coordinates. The software side of it will have many functions for measuring and planning, which will develop based on user requests, as will all other features. The main purpose for this device is to be useful from an engineering/technical standpoint. The output data will be 3D schematics with accurate measurements, unlike most environment mapping techniques, which result in in-accurate photo-montages. The money raised for the development and production of this device will enable us to repair our 3D printer, take the time away from our regular jobs, and put in the hours needed to bring this to completion, along with covering the costs of the parts & prototyping materials. If we don't reach our goal, depending on how close we get to it, we shall either attempt to do it with what we get, or refund our backers.e
