DireTube News Authority launches upgrading Dire Dawa-Dewele road The Ethiopia Roads Authority (ERA) said upgrading the 220 km Dire Dawa-Dewele road to asphalt paving has been launched at a cost of over 3.9 billion birr. Dire Dawa-Dewele road, which is part of the Ethiopian road development program, will be built by a Chinese construction company, CGC Overseas, Dereje Hailu, ERA Communication Directorate Team Leader told WIC. Some 85 per cent of the cost for the road will be covered by a loan secured from China EximBank, while the remaining 15 per cent will be earmarked by the government of Ethiopia, he said.
