It was Christmastime back in 2011, and Grandpa Lion didn't eat the tree that much so we could put it up.  Unfortunately with the wittenz today, they're too rambunctious and would likely climb it and knock it down.  Too bad too, it's a nice pre-lit tree, bought back in the day when incandescent Christmas lights were still king and LEDs were a twinkle in China's eye.  The star atop the tree is LED, however, a very early incarnation of the horrors of LED Christmas lights.

We also bothered back in these days to put mini lights on the bushes outside.  I put LEDs on one bush outside, and yep, you guessed it, they died just like the mini lights.  We got tired of buying new sets every year because China, so we stopped putting them out.  They were name brand, but the warranty is useless because they want you to send the old set back, for a cost that exceeds just buying a new set.  And that warranty was issued by a company we all know and recognize in America, Philips.

At least there's a montage of soft, warm, pussykitten Grandpa Lion, snoozing on top of the couch to quell the wrath of the rant.
