The embattled West Rand Municipality will receive a bailout from Treasury in order to pay salaries this month.
The municipality, which invested over 70 million rand in the now liquidated VBS Mutual Bank, has been battling to pay workers.
Earlier today, Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Uhuru Moiloa briefed the media on the state of the province’s municipalities.
