Dr. Sarah Kawasaki is the director of the opioid addiction treatment center based within the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Harrisburg, Pa. If she had a loved one addicted to heroin, “the sun would not set” before the person was using a medication such as buprenorphine, naltrexone or methadone, she says.
