Got tagged by dragonfly_hiker and the VR series was : What would be the 1 item you would bring to survive.

These are one of the hypothetical questions that get asked within the bushcraft community and people are encouraged to do a video response. These generate a lot of comments and opinions.

Basically my item would be a simple bic lighter. Cheap, Reliable, can have multiple hidden in every jacket or pack I have. I'm assuming that for this question, survive is 8-12 hours.

Why not shelter? well, here in Nova Scotia due to the shallow root system, you can easily find overturned trees from tropical storms or blizzards. You can easily use one as a rugged lean-to to spend the overnight.
