http://wrld.bg/zOfih - Three million people live on the edge of Bangladesh's Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world. Its resources are being over exploited and local communities are struggling to survive. Almost 50% of the people live below the poverty line with limited access to services. The situation is serious but not hopeless. We can help and we must. This documentary is based on the study ‘Securing a Resilient Future for the Bangladesh Sundarbans’ supported by the Australian, British, Netherlands, Norwegian, and Finnish governments and the South Asia Water Initiative. The study was coordinated with Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF) and Bangladesh Forest Department (BFD) and had contributions from international experts, IUCN Bangladesh, CEGIS, IWM and BCAS.
