Miguel Abreu, the president of the Portuguese Mathematics Society, has a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Computation by the Instituto Superior Técnico (UTL) where he has a Professor Degree. Studied and worked on several foreign institutions such as Stanford University and the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton, USA) and the Fields Institute (Toronto, Canadá). In TEDxISTTagus 2012, Prof. Miguel Abreu presented some ideas/solutions for the improvement of Math teaching in Portugal.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
