Hi friends, this is what I learned in one year after starting my second blog and growing it from $0 to over $9,000 per month.

Year in Review 2016

1. Find your What
a. What problem are you solving
b. How are you making someone else’s life easier and better and more fulfilled
c. What value are you providing

2. Know your avatar
a. Go to other blogs in your niche – read the comments
b. Search subreddits on reddit
c. Go to quora
d. And the best one – go on Facebook group
e. Later when you have an email list you can compile responses from your readers

3. Don’t try to be perfect
a. I had horrible posts in the beginning
b. I needed to test different styles and methods to find my own voice
c. You learn more by taking action than by just absorbing more and more information
d. Keep experimenting – you will find something that works for you or you may discover something completely new

4. Stay consistent
a. I posted once a week for the entire year
b. When I couldn’t get a post out for the week, and life was too hectic – I would do a video or ask one of my good blogging friends to guest post

5. Grow your email list from day 1
a. Try different strategies
b. Find out what your reader wants
c. Create a optin freebie that solves a problem for them quickly
d. Optin does not have to be elaborate – but it needs to be useful
e. Make sure your optin is inline with our main goal of your blog and the WHAT  you are answering

6. Promote 3-5 affiliates
a. Don’t spread yourself too thin
b. Know when your reader needs and what will benefit them the most
c. Don’t push affiliates that do not fit your avatar’s needs

7. Create a product
a. Start with a short ebook
b. Eventually move to a course – it takes more time and creating a small ebook first is a great test

8. Build friendships
a. You’ll need blogging friends if you’re going to stick with this long term
b. They’ll understand blogging language, challenges and help you
c. Go into a facebook group you really like, and ask if anyone wants to be in a mastermind with you
d. Pick 4-6 people that are in similar niches and help each other grow
e. Share your posts
f. Guest posts
g. Comment
h. Give tips
i. If you help a million, youll make a million

9. Be real
a. Show your personality (I show my kids and have them with me)
b. People want to have a friend online
c. The internet is so huge – so if you make it personal – you immediately make your reader feel special
d. Always think of how you can relate to your reader and help them

10. Stay positive
a. Blogging is hard work
b. Stay positive
c. Don’t do the comparison game
d. Whenever I start that comparison game I lose a day or two of productivity
e. A happy mind is a productive mind, and negativity robs you of your joy, your creativity and your drive. It’s a definite passion killer. 
f. Stay positive – you’ll get more done faster.
