This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Urban regeneration is an issue that challenges nearly every modernised country around the world. Often, boatloads of money and armies of experts seem to make little impact. Sue Humphreys and Britt Jurgensen have an innovative approach in improving their community of Anfield which is home to the Liverpool Football Club stadium. Can you really solve anything by baking bread?

Homebaked is a Co-operative Bakery and Community Land Trust located on the high street, just a few steps from Liverpool Football Club, in the premises of the former “Mitchell’s Bakery”. As a growing group of local residents, football fans and general supporters the Homebaked desire is to take an active part in the development of their neighbourhood. 

At the heart of the enterprise is the principle of creating value both social and financial that stays in our neighbourhood. Sue Humphreys and Britt Jurgensen are local residents and co-founders of Homebaked, they will be telling us more about the Homebaked story.
