Today I was "kicked out of the house" (my parents often encourage me to go railfanning when I have lots of time and nothing to do), so I made another trip to Hunton. I don't regret it, I got a few good trains when I was here. Enjoy the video.

Train #3: Best catch of today. CSX D779 heads back to Acca Yard with YN2 GP40-2 #6151 once again in the lead. I know I already caught this one leading exactly two weeks ago in Ashland, but it was cool to see this old veteran leading again. To my knowledge, 6151 is the last ex-B&O GP40-2 in YN2 paint. And I just wish I could somehow get rid of the blur issue in Sony Vegas... I never had the problem back when we had YouTube Editor.

Train #4: Earlier on, the scanner said that P092 was pulling into Staples Mill Road Station five miles to the south and that Q439 (which may have been stopped) was to follow P089 toward the station. Now Amtrak Silver Star #92 passes Hunton Station Park with two engines instead of one. I'd have to guess that the trailing unit broke down or something, so the lead unit came to the rescue, but for that kind of situation, the train wasn't that late.

Train #6: As dark clouds gradually start forming, Amtrak P080 hurries north. Notice the engineer waving from the window.

Next, we see a crossing gate malfunction.

Train #7: To wrap up the afternoon, a southbound CSX freight (could be another Q439) heads south. Thanks to the conductor for the wave. I've noticed that compared to most other Q439s I've seen, these trash containers look shiny and new.
