A Kansas City, Mo., woman may face charges Wednesday after attempting to flee police through a storm drain under Interstate 435.

KMBC reported that Selena Rose Rector ran out of gas on I-435 near Roe Avenue at about 2 a.m. While she walked to a nearby gas station, police stopped and checked her license plate.

Police said Rector was wanted on outstanding warrants, and when she returned to her car, she took off on foot. Officers followed her as she jumped down a storm drain.

Police said Rector crawled through the pipe under eight lanes of I-435 435, but hit a dead end when the pipe turned up 90 degrees to a retention pond in Overland Park.

Firefighters rescued Rector. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
