France's Le Monde newspaper says Saudi Arabia is threatening to take military action if Qatar installs a Russian air defense system. Le Monde says Saudi King Salman wrote a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, asking him to put pressure on Qatar to stop the deployment. In January, Qatar's ambassador to Russia was quoted as saying that Doha was in talks to buy the Russian S-400 missile air defense system. Last year Qatar and Russia signed an agreement on military and technical cooperation.
