Inspiration
Before I begin, this song actually almost did not make the album. When I realized how long the instrumental was e.g. almost 9 minutes, I had to ask one of my friends what the hockey sticks am I going to talk about for 9 minutes? And of course, there was suppose to be 3 art pieces, but it is really more like 2. Yep.... You guessed it. This is the other art piece. Usually, I'll slide a rap or something on a song, but I did not have anything for the earlier songs; so I wanted one that intro'ed with a poem. The other thing is that I actually wanted to do a slam poetry style, but then decided to go a different direction.


One thing that is interesting about this song....
I am actually singing/following the piano. The piano follows a run throughout the entire song including the chorus. I could have rehearsed and sang this song a hundred times and it still would have been very different each time. I chose to go with out of tune, out of pitch because I felt that it gave the song more character and authenticity. It is a very spiritual song and covers a multitude of spiritual concepts.
