Classification of closing gastroschisis may help surgeons, maternal fetal medicine specialists and neonatologists more effectively counsel families in both the prental and postnatal settings regarding treatment and prognosis. 

Research led by pediatric surgeon Erin Perrone, MD, presented at International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society (Oct 2017) and American Pediatric Surgical Association (May 2018).
