Digital Switch Over Central Scotland - Wednesday 22nd June 2011. 12.40 am and Channel 5 was the last to go. Goodbye licensed Analogue tv signals and welcome strong Digital HD signal. The reason I say goodbye licensed analogue is.. The pirates will continue to use it until such times DVB broadcast equipment comes down in price. Maybe in 20 years or so... 900MHz, 1.2 GHz, 1.7GHz, 2.4GHz and 5GHz they are all analogue too :-) I don't know of any DVB-T or Digital video senders for consumer use. Until then only the smart guys who can build their own DVB-T2 equipment will rule :-) Look how many years (DAB) digital radio has been around (15 years) and still no pirates. Why not?, because they haven't a clue how to make one. Only a few can manage it on their own. Unless of course you have £40,000+ spare for professional broadcast equipment.
