THEY have been accused of spoiling the World Cup and TV companies are investigating how to tune out the sound of them from broadcasts but there is no getting away from the Vuvuzela.

Immensely popular in Africa the sound of the plastic horn has so far been absent from the streets of Britain but that could soon change.

Manchester United are rumoured to be selling branded horns next season but have been banned by the All England Club for Wimbledon amid fears they could distract players.

Despite their controversy the Daily Mirror decided to test the sound out on the streets of Britain. 

Mirrorman Steve Myall puckered up and took his Vuvuzela to the quietest places he could find - a la Dom Joly -- to see what reception he would get.
