This here is an unscripted video. If you enjoy this, be sure to do these 5 things: LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE & click the bell! It all helps. Okay. You guys probably wonder why I made this video to begin with? Well this is more of an unscripted sort of thing. Being on YouTube for 12 years now, I have seen how the website has gone from being something to enjoy to pretty much a shadow of its former self. If you wonder about the footage here on this video, it's Hearthstone and I'm opening up 90 packs: 70 of The Boomsday Project, 20 of The Witchwood. But yeah, here are my feelings on YouTube and the many problems that creators bring up. At least be thankful I don't go into an angry tirade. It doesn't work and it makes you look childish. First being the many changes that YouTube has done such as removing stuff people like such as the ability to message people, provide video responses, include annotations on videos and so on. Let's not forget that YouTube loves to change the layouts so it can savor what they want. Before that, YouTube channels would have layouts that give them a sense of identity. Think of channels as like walking advertisements and having a great layout woiuld get people to watch and survive. Now, we have the OneChannel Layout and it feels bad. It's bad because channels lost a sense of identity and it's only done because watching YT on mobile was getting popular. It's really messed up. Second is the ever-changing algorithm. Trying to fight against the algorithm is like fighting against an impossible super hidden boss in an RPG game. Trust me. Sometimes the algorithm would favor channels and they would get a lot of views and other times, it just changes things up making it harder for others and easier for those who know how to take advantage of it. I sadly don't. Even when you provide proper stuff such as title, description, tags, etc, it isn't enough. Also, YouTube can sometimes use the algorithm to have older videos be removed from search results. It's messed up. Third being of the content/copyright ID matching. Remember back in 2013 when YouTube decided to flip the switch and activate their system. This really angered a lot of people. I was affected and since then, a lot of us creators have to endure this system and why many of us joined networks. I'm one of the few that is lucky to get a managed partnership and being managed means you don't have to deal with automated content ID claims. We still contend with manual claims but for everyone else, it's a hassle. Nintendo being one such company that auto claims any videos that cover their products. At least it's better than them taking down all the videos, hence why some channels outright don't upload any Nintendo footage whatsoever. Last but not least, I talk about a lot of other things that I dislike about YouTube such as the notifications not working (thanks Techteen3000) and it hurts if people aren't notified of videos. I already mentioned that YouTube loves to remove features to make way for stuff that they want. It also sucks that ad revenue can get real bad at times forcing creators to find other avenues of making money such as crowdfunding sites like Patreon. All of it is a mess. The only thing I wish is that YouTube can stop changing and actually work on making the website better but with a lack of competition, they probably won't. Remember vidme? Yeah. That site is gone but I wish it still survived because at least it provided an alternative for creators. Yeah. I've gone on to rant enough and it's not like I don't have much else to say. For now, enjoy it and if not, I tried. #youtuberant #websiteissues #honestfeelings * * * Wonder what else I have up my sleeves? Follow me at the links below!
