Congress AZ began after gold was discovered in the area in 1884.  Not much is left of old town Congress.  The gold mine and old pioneer cemetery are not open to the public.

Today, Congress Arizona serves as a retirement and bed-room community, about 15 minutes north of Wickenburg AZ, 69 miles north of Phoenix AZ.
