In 2004 the Robotics Institute celebrated its founding in 1979. This video was compiled to tell the story of the founders and some of the diverse work from the past. This video wasn't long enough to feature everyone who has helped make the RI what it is today, but it includes a lot of faces, projects and thoughts. In October 2008, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Field Robotics Center here at RI. As we approach 2019, the 40th Anniversary of the CMU Robotics Institute, we can check back on many of the faculty and former PhD students featured in this video.
