In this episode of Encounters, G S Attwal conducts an exclusive interview with Simarjit Kaur, founder of the Taran project which was established in 2002. This is a very inspiring interview which highlights major issues in the Punjab. It ws for these reasons Simarjit was nominated for the World Sikh Awards Nominees in 2013. She is also the author of: Saffron Salvation, Lakhi and Amarpal and Bleeding Behind the Barbed Wire of Punjab. Justice Bains (retired) has commented about their work: "Taran is the first medical project for poor widows of extra judicial killings in an arena of impunity."
