Police Minister, Bheki Cele, says those who perpetrated crimes after the Global Citizen Festival at FNB stadium on Sunday will face the full might of the law. Social media exploded after the event with people describing how they were caught up in a crime spree at a Sasol garage located a few kilometers away from the stadium. Phones and even wigs were stolen, shots were fired, and police have confirmed that someone was hit by a bus. Most people were waiting for transport and had nowhere to go while the robbers attacked. Initially, police said that only one case had been reported. Cele now says around 50 cases have been reported of which five are in court. He says events that occurred at the Sasol garage were unforeseen. The minister joins us now from our studio in Seapoint. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
