Game Maker: Studio was out in Steam some time back, so I thought I'd give it a try. Unlike the RPG Maker series, this program lets me create games of other genres. The problem with the program is that it's not very friendly to developers, since sometimes you tend to do something you may not want it to. Also because I used the Free version of the program, the number of objects I can create in a game IS VERY LIMITED. Don't expect huge games from those who use the Free version.

Anyway about this game, "Hellscape" is a bullet-hell vertical shooter game about a young magician (lol RPG Maker sprite) who must traverse through the hellish lands and defeat the evil Necromancer to reverse the chaos he has caused. Of course that's no easy task when the Necromancer also has some guards to stop him. Will your young hero be able to defeat all who stands in the way and restore the land to the way it was before?

I tried to make it as tough as Touhou, but seeing that I only made one stage I shouldn't go any further with what I've done currently. Controls are the same as Touhou (Z to shoot, X to bomb, Left Shift to focus). There's also a Hard difficulty, but that's to be unlocked when you beat the game on Normal.

You can use the bomb to clear bullets and render you invisible for four seconds. However, the charge gauge must be full in order to use it (similar to Ray Storm). The gauge is starts at 100% at the beginning of the player life and will refill in about 17 seconds after a bomb is used.
