DAYTON -- Some of you might have been hoping for a white Christmas this year, but the warmer weather made for a much smoother day at the airport. There were a few delays, and some close calls but no cancellations on Christmas Eve (2014). The Dayton airport was filled with all the stuff Christmas is made of. Families embracing, reunited and ready to celebrate. But for some, the agony of delays put the Christmas Eve fun on hold. I've been here since 2 o clock," Julie Osburn said Wednesday. "I'm excited the whole family can't wait to see him. He's over in Africa with his company, so I'm waiting." Osburn hasn't seen her husband in 2 and half months. And with over 30 percent of the arriving flights delayed at least an hour, Julie waited and waited. I thought I was going to spend Christmas alone with the family but he's coming home so it's going to make it all worthwhile, Osburn explained. I want to cry because I can't wait to see him. It's been too long. Hours later, Julie's Christmas gift finally arrived. Santa wasn't the only one who traveled the world this Christmas. Angola to Rwanda. Rwanda to Houston. Houston to Chicago. Chicago to here. I'm tired, Ron Osburn said managed after embracing his crying wife. I'm glad to be home. What this is the first time in 4 years? For Ron, it was all worth it to get to Julie.
