They are a major Berlin tourist attraction, and the popularity of horse-drawn tourist carriages is increasing, but local politicians are spoiling the fun. They are demanding clear-cut rules and shift times for the horses and soft turf for their hooves during well-earned breaks.Calls have even been made for the reintroduction of rules used under the Kaiser. The drivers, unlike the horses, are not amused.
