Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, said on Friday that the parliament and the Swedish Presidency of the European Union are to cooperate "very closely" in the coming week as several key decisions are to be made about the future of the union, including on the future of the Lisbon Treaty rules for the EU, the position of Jose Manuel Barroso as president of the European Commission, the financial crisis and on climate change.
