Young poet, Lauren Waites, speaks about the idea and pursuit of happiness through a project she did on modern day America. With this, she also challenges the idea of happiness itself as she presents a profound new idea of wholeness.

Lauren Waites is a sophomore and spoken word poet at Cerritos High School. At a young age, she found a passion for poetry, life, and the human spirit through interactions in drum circles and everyday occurrences. She would like to thank everyone who has ever given her something to write about, and who told her, "you can". Because of you, she is doing.
