Mitchell makes art and furniture from locally harvested trees. He has been busy fulfilling many custom furniture and crafted wood orders since moving to his new location in Penrose, CO. Mitch has been crafting live-edge fireplace mantels, dining tables, coffee tables, log benches, chairs, and he even has another "Timber Frame Signboard" to make for the City of Colorado Springs Parks Department for one of their new trail-heads. And now, with all these orders, Mitchell needs more logs. This load of Doug Fir logs was harvested in Central Colorado, delivered by "BUZZ" of Busby Enterprises. So why Douglas Fir logs this time instead of Ponderosa Pine? Because you can do more with Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir logs. Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir is a valuable timber tree. The wood is exceptionally strong and is used for structural timber as well as poles, plywood, pulp, dimensional lumber, railroad ties, mine timbers, log cabins, posts and poles, fencing, and firewood. Other uses listed include "machine-stress-rated lumber", glued-laminated (Glulam) beams, pallets, furniture, cabinets, doors, flooring, window frames, and other miscellaneous woodwork and millwork.
