In the early 90's there was a deli called Something Different in Montclair NJ. They allowed small rock and roll shows in the back at night and every local band who was anyone started out there or at some similar joint. My heavy metal band DECREPED was no exception and this was our first live show. The year was 1990. The band on this video is TERRAREQUIEM, most of them classmates of mine that I knew casually. We used to say they opened for us back then but in reality they just played before we did. I always liked the sound they put out, mesmerizing and hypnotic with cool breaks, even listening to them today. They were a great band to skateboard to and I remember rocking them out on a cassette tape while we skated a local spot in back of Shop Rite. Hey, we were all 16 and 17 years old and for almost everyone there it was their first real band experience. I think it went pretty well. I can't thank Howie enough for capturing this all on VHS at the time. I am amazed it survived to the digital age. Thank goodness my mullet did not.
