Rao Shahid is a senior producer in Sama TV (Sama News). He is the senior producer of Kutb Online and looks after management in Lahore Sama News office. After completion of his masters from Islamia University Bahawalpur, he did M.Phil in media studies. He is enrolled in Ph.D programme majoring in media studies. He started his career with an internship and then worked for Mashriq TV which was based in Lahore. At that time, there were a few news channels in the country like Geo News. After joining Mashriq TV he realized that this field would take unspecified time. He worked hard and learned editing and camera skills. He worked for a channel Uni Plus and he then worked for HUM TV. He worked for almost 1.5 years for HUM TV and got an admission in Film Making Certificate in National College of Arts (NCA). He then joined Geo News and worked for 3 years in Nadia Khan Morning Show. He made documentaries and current issues’ programmes as well. He got documentary training in Malaysia. He believes that the academic excellence is also necessary apart from the skills a person has. He has been working for Sama News for past seven years. He believes that media should highlight the problems of common men and serve the nation for greater good.
