Every now and then I'll see the question being asked in the cycling comment section: "when the cops or traffic isn't around, do you still follow the road rules? For me the answer is simple. YES! Here at the junction I'm waiting patiently for the red light to turn green. I had absolutely no Idea that a State Trooper was staged right in front my face in broad day light. It wasn't until I had crossed the intersection did I take note of the Trooper to my right outside of his cruiser. Earlier in the day I also took note of an EHT SUV behind me as I signaled my right turn. The moral of the story is simple. ALL ROAD USERS should always be on our collective best behavior when travelling the roads. Our own lives depend on safe and predictable road use.
