What is high intensity interval training? HIIT for short. HIIT is anaerobic cardiovascular exercise for short periods of time called intervals. Think: sprint, recovery, sprint, recovery, etc. HIIT is a good way to improve your anaerobic capacity; however, it is not a substitute for endurance activity! Speed isn't everything.
