My late Mother, Barbara I Shireby recorded herself on a cassette tape in January 1984 when she was in her 60's. It was a time that she was waiting for a Cataract operation. I didn't know this recording existed until I found it after her death, sadly of Motor Neuron Disease. Recorded on the 1879 Brindley & Foster (tracker) pipe organ installed in St Lawrence Church, Tinsley, Sheffield where I was organist at the time. My late Mother deputised for me. I went back to visit this year (2009) in July & to take photos to go with this audio only clip. We both loved this instrument & although I play at six churches, none of them are as versatile as this organ. I miss the Great mixture & the Swell 8 & 4' strings. Richard Shireby, G0OJF (more)(
