I once drew a lamp whilst dining in a restaurant in La rioja, northern Spain at the monastery of San Millan de la Cogolla it was one of several bought by the restaurant owner´s father from Marrakesh in the 60´s. On seeing that i had taken delight in drawing the lamp, the owner subsequently presented me with my very own lamp. This is the lamp you see. I wasn´t at liberty to bring it in my luggage and so it remains in the care of a friend. I know she is taking care of it for me and one day when i find a home for it i intend to fetch it.
