Looks like Caltrans is now collecting woodchips, or I should say, having truck loads of wood chips being dumped all along many freeways as their new mulch. For years the freeways were just left as just dirt, dusky windblown dirt, sometimes you’d see rocks added, and all the weeds would grow feet high all year. Now they have figured out, wood chips are the way to go! This should help with their weed issues AND help the landscape grow better, need less sprinkler water DAILY, grow healthier, and just need less maintenance in general for a nicer landscape!
