Talk by Professor Terry Hodgkinson CBE DL as part of TEDxWakefield - new directions in placemaking.
Terry chaired the ground breaking Yorkshire Forward Renaissance Panel prior to taking up the post as Chair of Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency for Yorkshire and Humber for seven years. As Chair, he oversaw the agency grow the economy of Yorkshire and Humber, and was responsible for an annual budget of £360m approximately a third of which contributed to the place making agenda Terry is passionate about great design, architecture, heritage and place making. He is an advocate of continuous learning and training, and he considers inspirational leadership to be a quality that influences growth and development of people in all aspects of their lives. 

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
